Re-enacting Movie Scenes Drunk in Las Vegas, New Mexico

I’ve had a few roadtrips lately, read about those gems here and here. In my most recent roadtrip to New Mexico we picked a destination based entirely on the name and the fact we thought pictures with the town sign would be funny. Turns out Las Vegas, New Mexico is a pretty interesting place.  Hollywood has been using this town for movies for decades because … Continue reading Re-enacting Movie Scenes Drunk in Las Vegas, New Mexico

Driving Monster Trucks in Indiana

I’m a believer that every state in America has something weird to offer, and I plan to find out what those are.  In one of my first attempts at finding the uniquely fun I was introduced to a place in Franklin Indiana called Radical Racing Monster Truck Driving School.  From the name I think you can assume where this is going… The cost is pretty … Continue reading Driving Monster Trucks in Indiana

Waiting For Penguins in Curio Bay

On the southern tip of the Southern Island of New Zealand there is Curio Bay.  This is a remote, not-so-frequently discussed location by design in order to keep the number of people coming to a manageable number.  Curio Bay offers some amazing views, interesting hikes, and even the ability to surf with the rare pink dolphins that live just off it’s coast.  As amazing as … Continue reading Waiting For Penguins in Curio Bay

I’ve been to a few weird, obscure, and underappreciated sites in my travels but this one is on a bit of a different scale. Bishop Castle, which was built by one man, Jim Bishop, starting in 1969 and continuing to this day.  If you come on the weekends you are most likely to see him still working on it.  The history on the site is … Continue reading The House Obsession Built at Bishop Castle, Colorado

On this last trip, I decided that I would enjoy my stay more by staying inside and drinking/eating. However, I am incorrigible when it comes to wandering about, so after 15 minutes of having a … Continue reading A Short Trip to Jakarta

Carolina Reapers, Drag Queens, and Ninjas – A Guide to an Epic Night in New York City

Early October this year I was in New York City for a Comic Con…yea I seem to go to a lot of those I know.  However while I was there I ended up have a night that I will remember for a long time because of the just general absurdity that ended up happening.  I’m going to take you on a stop by stop tour … Continue reading Carolina Reapers, Drag Queens, and Ninjas – A Guide to an Epic Night in New York City

Quick Review – Prison Hotel in Helsinki

This is the 3rd entry I’ve made on my trip to Helsinki.  Please check out the first two here on the Teddy Bear Museum and Suomenlinna Island. Hotel Katajanokka or as it is easier to type into Google, the prison hotel.  This place got it’s name from (obviously)being an old prison converted to a hotel.  The aesthetic is definitely present. From my room you could view … Continue reading Quick Review – Prison Hotel in Helsinki
